When it comes to the island of Curacao and cocktails, the story begins with a certain blue liqueur. A blue liqueur that isn’t originally blue in color, but we’ll get to that later.
There’s just something about Caribbean islands and cocktails, right? It must have to do with the vacation vibes in such destinations, and the delightfully warm and sunny weather year-round.
Yes, that’s exactly it. The natural climate of Curacao, and the Caribbean in general is conducive to growing the produce needed for the iconic cocktail alcohols many of us have come to know and love.
Forever is a big deal.
If you’ve been fortunate enough to find the one person you envision spending the rest of your life with… well, cheers! The question now remains – how to give your sweetheart the engagement of her dreams?!
She must be something special if you want to become her husband, and there’s no better way to simultaneously show her how much she means to you and kick-off your forever together than with a spectacular proposal.
It’s important to keep in mind, friends and family will be asking to hear your engagement story for years to come, so a word to the wise – create an engagement that will become an incredible story to tell and listen to!

In the mood to start planning your next trip or vacation? With spring and summer break happening soon, there’s no better time to consider where you might want to jet off too!
Keep in mind, there’s a difference between a trip and a vacation. Typically speaking, a trip is visiting somewhere with some sort of purpose, other than relaxing, i.e. visiting family, exploring a new destination, learning about a new culture, business, etc.
A vacation typically means one wishes to go someplace beautiful and warm, where total and complete relaxation awaits. A trip is going to Peru and visiting Machu Picchu. A vacation is jetting to the island of Curacao and relaxing at a luxurious resort. Both are fantastic options! It’s just a matter of choosing which one you desire.
Often times, vacationers-to-be think they’re going on vacation, but because of one mistake, end up having more of a trip. What mistake is that?
Not staying at a hotel or resort that is a vacation within itself.
The most exciting time of the year in the Caribbean has arrived! Carnival! Though it may take place across the Caribbean, Carnival celebrations greatly differ from island to island. Curacao has a very unique twist on it’s Carnival celebrations, and to understand just how Carnival goes down on Curacao, we’ve interviewed none other than Curacao native Ezzie Cijntje.
Though it may seem like a holiday year round on Curaçao, the magic of the holiday season makes this time of year more thrilling and wonderful than any other time.
On Curaçao, you can trade in snow for sand, and grey skies for a soft warm breeze and sunny skies. Looking for holiday festivities and cheer? We’ve got it on tap around here.
At Santa Barbara Beach and Golf Resort, the weather is delightful year-round, especially during the holidays, allowing our guests to be festive in mind, body, and spirit. If you’re wondering just how we celebrate the season on our idyllic, sunny, and blissfully warm island, just take a peek at some of our magical holiday happenings!
Boats. Floats. Beats. Internationally famous DJs. Lots of bikinis.
There are parties, and then there is Fuikdag.
Hailed as one of the biggest and wildest parties you’ve never heard of, Fuikdag is Curaçao‘s annual boat and dance party to ring in the New Year.
There are no tickets, dress code or limitations of any kind… for the most part. What began as a three boat gathering has since transformed into a massive float party extending the length of just one day, once a year.
Surfing, snorkeling, boating, swimming… the possibilities of water play in and around the Caribbean island of Curaçao are endless. Typically the initial draw of Curaçao is the glittering Caribbean Sea, yet it’s the expansive buffet of land activities also, that entices tourists to visit time after time.
Exploring Curaçao by water is spectacular, but there’s also Curaçao by foot, pedal, and hoof to entertain!
Suffice it to say, the Caribbean is paradise year-round. Without a doubt, though, there are “seasons,” each offering pros and cons for visiting during that particular season.
From world famous marathons to high-profile yoga festivals there’s a never ending supply of physical and mental wellness events and practices to engage with in the U.S.
But, this healthy living movement isn’t just happening in the U.S., it’s all over the world! Having been a coveted place to retreat to for a bit of mind, body and spirit rejuvenation, it’s no surprise that the Caribbean is following (or shall we say, leading) in the health and wellness trends of society.
