An organization is only as good as its weakest link, as the saying goes. With that in mind, the end of the year is an opportune time to brainstorm how to attract the top talent to your organization in 2018.
Finding innovative, passionate, hard-working and dedicated individuals is no easy task. Especially if your industry is ripe with competition. One of the best ways to attract top talent is to be a top organization to work for. How does an organization become a top choice? There may not be any single way, but one method we’re familiar with is corporate events.
It sparkles in the sun, changes hues throughout the day, and is comfortingly warm. What might these descriptors be for? Why the Caribbean Sea of course! The Caribbean dazzles all who are fortunate enough to live alongside it, visit it, or even just lay eyes upon it from afar. There are many tropical seas around the world beckoning vacationers, but the Caribbean Sea is by far one of the most magnificent.
Forever is a big deal.
If you’ve been fortunate enough to find the one person you envision spending the rest of your life with… well, cheers! The question now remains – how to give your sweetheart the engagement of her dreams?!
She must be something special if you want to become her husband, and there’s no better way to simultaneously show her how much she means to you and kick-off your forever together than with a spectacular proposal.
It’s important to keep in mind, friends and family will be asking to hear your engagement story for years to come, so a word to the wise – create an engagement that will become an incredible story to tell and listen to!

Hidden, far far away on the beautiful, idyllic, and exotic island of Curacao lies one of the greatest chocolatier and pastry chefs to ever exist.
Ok, some of that is an exaggeration. Curacao isn’t all that far away, but it is in the Caribbean. Wouter Tjeertes isn’t hidden, but he really is a sugar genius.
In honor of this sugar-loving month, we decided to take a moment to introduce everyone to Wouter and his mouth-watering creations. His official title is Executive Pastry Chef, the position he holds at Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, a luxury resort on Curacao.
Wouter is a mere 37 years old, originally from a small town in the Netherlands called Wormer, just north of Amsterdam. According to Wouter, the region he’s from is the largest cocoa harbor in the world, and as a result, he grew up smelling chocolate as he rode his bicycle home. Talk about idyllic! He now resides on Curacao and is happily married with two sons. We asked him quite a few questions to get to know who he is, what he does, and what he has in store for the future.
Packing, the infamous word that makes many of us groan with displeasure. Having to fit all of the necessary, or if we’re being truthful, not so necessary at times, items into one suitcase. Worrying about the weight limits, size limits, items that aren’t allowed for security purposes.
Yet, for most of us, the packing struggle is for our own cause – to have all of our favorite items while on vacation somewhere beautiful, new, or exotic.
This holiday season, at Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort on Curacao Island, guests have the chance to add another layer to their packing, they can Pack For a Purpose.
What’s better than vacationing on an idyllic Caribbean island?
Having professional looking, insta-worthy sunset pics to show off your Caribbean vacation.
This day in age, if you have a phone, you have a more than capable camera. With technology always improving phone camera’s have come quite a long way and are capable of taking clear and beautiful pictures.
More surprising than the capabilities of phone cameras – what can be done to enhance the quality of a sunset pic with a few easy tips and tricks.
Having a rad sunset photo isn’t the only reason to vacation in the Caribbean, but having beautiful memories to share with loved ones sure is gratifying.
To help you along in your picture-perfect vacay, here are a few simple photography tips we hope you can utilize!
The Rule of Thirds is Key
Ever heard of the rule of thirds? This is a general photography principle that enhances almost any photo. Imagine your image as being divided into nine equal parts by two equally spaced horizontal and vertical lines. The important parts of your photo should be places along the lines and their intersections. Basically, you don’t want the focal point of your photo to be right in the center, rather off to the side, etc.
Some of the most striking sunset photos are so striking because of the foreground and the sunset. Maybe there’s a pretty beach landscape beneath the sunset, or perhaps a pier nearby. Try to add in some of the foreground to add beauty and depth to your photo.
Look for Objects Reflecting the Sunset Colors
The brilliance of a sunset penetrates every surface it touches, and this is a great opportunity for you to get a beautiful foreground, or even an entirely separate picture.
After Rain Sunsets Are the Best
If it happens to rain during your Caribbean vacay, plan on snapping some pics as soon as the clouds begin to clear for the most epic sunset photos!
After the sun sets, there is that lingering gorgeous multi-colored sky to look forward to. Wherever you are sit back, relax, and wait for round two – usually about 20-25 minutes after the sun has set.
Scope Out Your Location Ahead of Time
If you’re really feeling serious about scoring some stellar pics, then planning ahead is a great idea. As you explore the island keep in mind the places that will show off the sunset beautifully. If your phones’ weather app doesn’t tell you the time o the sunset, download an app that specializes in listing sunset times! Don’t forget – you want the sunset location to be facing west. Otherwise you may not actually get that sunset picture. Beaches and other locations facing east are best for sunrise photos instead.
Play Around With Unusual Angles
Get down low, find somewhere up high, play around with the angles! You may just be surprised at what you can achieve with a good squat.
Find Some Stability
Last but not least, try to keep the phone as stable as possible. Maybe prop the phone on a flat surface, or even consider getting a tripod for it. In low light especially, the camera on the phone slows the shutter speed to allow more light to come in, making it easier to get a blurry picture. If you just have your body to work with, hold the camera with both hands and let your upper arms rest against your torso to keep the camera still.
Now you can take impressive sunset photos anywhere in the world, but we are firm believers that the Caribbean is by far one of the best destinations. Within the Caribbean, we also happen to think Curaçao is among the best islands to visit. To further guide you in your future vacation planning, we recommend staying at Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort when you do decide to visit Curaçao.

Definingly known for it’s year-round brilliant weather and marvelous beaches, the Caribbean isn’t often touted as a region rich in history and culture. Just like every region on Earth that’s played host to one or more cultures over the course of time, the Caribbean islands have their fair share of history too. True, many islands in the region are petite and have little to offer other than picturesque beaches, but many of the larger islands have a healthy supply of cultural activities and history to take in.
Forty four miles north of the Venezuelan coast lies the idyllic island of Curaçao. Well-known for its blue liqueur, pristine beaches, and generally breathtaking landscape, Curaçao also has one of the largest selection of museums and cultural institutions in the entire Caribbean. Roughly 171 square miles in total, Curaçao is so much more than a simple island paradise.
